Following their Annual General Meeting, CORA announced the creation of a new award to acknowledge Athletes, Coaches-Builders, and Pioneers in the sport of outrigger canoeing in Canada. Nominations for selection may be made by any CORA member or club representative of any active CORA club in Canada through the CORA website.
Based on nominations submitted through-out the calendar year, CORA will review nominations for eligibility. Nominees who meet the eligibility criteria will be added to the next Ballot to be voted upon by CORA for election to the Hall Of Fame. Nominees who are passed over for the Hall Of Fame by not meeting the eligibility criteria or by not receiving the required “Minimal” votes when they are on the Ballot or by not receiving the required “Membership” votes after the maximum times on the Ballot may be eligible for nomination again after the minimum time on the Waiting List. Nominees elected to the Hall Of Fame will be inducted upon receiving the required “Membership” votes by having their bio posted to the Canadian Outrigger Hall Of Fame page, and recognized at the CORA AGM.
Individuals may be “Active” or “Retired” or “Posthumous” at the time of their nomination. Please refer to the Canadian Outrigger Hall Of Fame Policy.
